About Olsberg
Olsberg is a small town in the Hochsauerland district of North Rhine-Westphalia and is picturesquely situated in the Rothaargebirge mountains, directly on the upper Ruhr. In addition to the town center, the municipality comprises several districts such as Bigge, Elpe and Wiemeringhausen and was created through territorial reforms in the 1970s. Characterized by a traditional forestry and timber industry, today Olsberg has established itself primarily as a vacation resort: Hikers and winter sports enthusiasts appreciate the dense forests, the high-altitude trails and the ski lifts in the Jagdhaus ski area.
